Families of Troop 276 are invited to join families of Pack 520 for the “God and Me” class. This course is on the first level of the religious emblem program, and is designed for boys and girls in grades 1 thru 3. We will be using materials created for Protestant and Independent Christian Churches and published by P.R.A.Y. (Programs of Religious Activities with Youth). This program is recognized by both B.S.A. and the Girl Scouts of America.
Though each evening will be ecumenical in nature, embracing the plurality of faiths in our scouting community, families will be encouraged to earn the religious emblem of their particular faith tradition. Parents are encouraged to participate with their sons and daughters, making this a fun and meaningful family activity. The Rev. Denise Brentlinger, a Troop 276 mom and Lutheran pastor will be the class facilitator. She may be contacted at

Troop 276 frequently aides CUMC, our sponsor, by providing volunteer staffing for church activities. On January 18th CUMC will hold a dinner for which Scout volunteers would be appreciated. Duties include basic setup, serving and cleanup. Scouts earn credit for service hours, a required part of rank advancement.
Please check calendars and contact Mary Lynn Lesnick to register or for questions. |

Our next Troop 276 monthly camping trip will be held over the January 20-22, 2012 week-end. We will be making the short trip to Camp Belzer for our fist WINTER TENT CAMPING TRIP! From a cooking perspective, each patrol will need to plan to cook two (2) breakfasts, Saturday lunch as well as Saturday dinner. More details on cooking themes will be provided as we get closer to the campout.
So that the patrols can effectively plan for this trip, I would appreciate a pre-declaration of your intent to attend prior to Friday, January 13, 2011. To pre-declare, please send an e-mail to

The Troop has now established a permanent storage spot for our photos that will allow us to share all of our photos. Have a special occasion coming up and you’d like to see that picture of Jimmy from years ago? Then this is the place to go -- and it's FREE OF CHARGE!
Here’s how it works. Point your browser to www.photobucket.com. Click on Find Stuff and then Group Albums. Type troop276 in the search box. As an alternative, you can just click here and be taken right to it or we've got a link at the top of the page.
There are over 800 pictures there now. Follow the directions to download or upload and that’s it! We have a way to share pictures with anyone! If you are unsure on how to forward this info to relatives, just print the page using the icons in the upper right hand of this story, and save it. Send the attachment to your relatives and they can see it too! |
